Ken Charles is the darker and naughtier alter ego of Charlie Kenmore, the author of

Earth Angel and other Seven Realms Tales, several screenplays and numerous short stories.
He started writing corporal punishment (CP) erotica after coming home frustrated one night after being stood up on a first date. Originally intent on writing a “WHACK-OUCH-WHACK-OUCH” tale just to vent some spleen, Ken's plan was foiled when the story actually took on a life of its own and developed a plot line. It became one of Ken's most popular stories. Since then, Ken has taken CP from the bedroom to outer space. Whether set forth in flash fiction or in a novella, rubifaction is guaranteed.

We are very excited to have Ken Charles visit our blog this weekend. Our virtual location is a 1800 western brothel in Missouri. Yes, we are time-traveling to the past. Shhhh....Ken doesn't know exactly where we'll chat. We only sent him an address and a time to show up. So while we wait, let's go on inside, sit at the bar and have a few shots with the lovely ladies (painted ladies as they were referred to back then).

The ladies lounging on the chaise, eagerly look at the door as we make our way in. Their faces quickly showing disappointment, as they can clearly see we aren't clients. Stale cigar smoke and cheap perfume lingers heavy in the air. The bartender greets us with a nod.

Ahhh, here's Ken! *several of the ladies saunter up to Ken* Ummm, girls, he is with us. *takes Ken's arm* Let's find a table. Bartender, another round please.

Brenda& Steve: Hi Ken, hope your trip was too difficult! We’re so excited you could join us for achat. When did you first decide to submit your work to be published? Tell uswhat or who encouraged you to take this big step.

Ken:My name is Ken Charles. I’m the darker, naughtier alter ego of fantasy authorCharlie Kenmore. I’ve been writing erotica for years, much of it for Alexx MomCat, but Charlie’s ego wouldn’t let me get published first. Alexx is the onethat suggested that I clean up some of the stories and see what happened.

Brenda& Steve: Please tell us a little about your new release Sex Tales from West County-Billy’s Tale withoutgiving too much of a spoiler away.

Ken: Billy’s Tale is the story of 28 year oldBilly (surprise!) who was orphaned as a child, and raised, as a matter of duty,by an extremely rich, but emotionally distant, grandmother. At 18, he turnedhis back on the money, and moved to LA where he put himself through school.Despite the snub, Grandmother leaves him everything when she dies. Billyreturns to St. Louis with more money and leisure time than he ever imagined. Heuses some of his new resources to open his dream business, and some of it toexplore the kinky side of his sexuality.

Billy’s Tale was aninteresting story to write, because I started in the middle. For several years,I had a single scene in mind. I just never had a proper vehicle to put thescene in. I decided to write the scene which is found in Billy and Missy’sfirst morning after (the excerpt below), and the rest of Billy’s Tale filled in around it.

Brenda &Steve: Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do theydevelop as you write?

Ken: Iam a pantser, not a plotter. The Muse provides characters and events as theyare needed. In the case of Billy’s Tale,only Billy and Missy were in mind at the outset of the tale.

Brenda &Steve: How much research do you do for your books? Have you found any cooltidbits in your research?

Ken: Idrop ship my research as needed. If I need a cool car, a medical device, oranything else, I go to the web and make a quick search. Charlie does that also,but as a fantasist, more often than not he’ll just make up whatever he needs.

Brenda &Steve: What is your writing process? Do you outline, write by the seat of yourpants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Ken:As noted previously, I am an unashamed, unabashed pantser. Sometimes I’ll havean idea for a climax and have to figure out a story to get there. Other times,I’ll have a thought to the effect “What if...” and I’ll start writing and seewhere it leads.

Brenda &Steve: Do you write full time? What did you do before you became a writer orstill do?

Ken: My day job is still as a licensedprofessional, but I’m hoping to set that aside when I grow up. I’ve alsocontacted the state about becoming a lottery annuitant, but so far, the statekeeps picking the wrong numbers.

Brenda& Steve: Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example….getcoffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Ken:Writing is dependent upon two factors, iced tea and chocolate (if it’safternoon). The rest is just details.

Brenda& Steve: Describe a typical writing day for you.

Ken:Top off the iced tea. Yell at my heart of hearts, Alexx Mom Cat, online at herwork for not taking our 18 year old cat (who is now perched on my shoulder) towork with her. Make sure the chocolate is in reach. Aaaaaaaaand I’m off!

Brenda &Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at your future books. What’s on the horizon?

Ken: Ihave two more ebooks ready to release in February. Slightly Twisted Sisters is due out from No Boundaries Press. Thisis a collection of 14 short stories that are a bit edgier than most of mystories. The heroines are haughty, headstrong, bitchy and even outrightsociopathic. There is sex, but sex isn’t the focus.

I have two more works under contract with NBP, Venus & Marks and CP Tales Across Time and Space dueout in a couple of months.

The Mercies of Cinderella is due out on Leap Day fromNaughty Nights Press.

Payback is abitch, and so at times is Cinderella. Cinderella is about to marry PrinceCharming. Her evil Step Mother and Stepsisters have been convicted of hightreason for their conspiracy to prevent the Prince from finding his true love,and are awaiting sentencing. Before the Prince passes sentence, Cinderella asksto take them into her custody for a year to determine whether she may speak ontheir behalves. The Prince grants her request, and remands the Step relationsto one year under the tender mercies of Cinderella.

During this year,while Cinderella basks in the boundless love of the Prince and the joy of herfirst pregnancy, she applies the hard lessons she learned growing up to herStepsisters, expressing her concern for their moral edification and well beingwith various paddles, straps, and even the scapula of a giant trap-door spider.Step Mother, who taught her that nothing in life is free, has to pay for herkeep with sexual favors for all who provide her with any goods or services.

Brenda& Steve: The Mercies of Cinderella and Slightly Twisted Sisters were released early. Congratulations! What is your favorite genre to read and who is your favoriteauthor?

Ken:Tough call. I read in all sorts of genres. I love political intrigue andespionage novels. I read mysteries and science fiction and fantasy. Each genre has its own standard bearers, butsome of my regular “gotta read” authors include James Patterson, Jim Butcher,Harlan Coben, Stewart Woods, and a number of others. With regard to erotica,hands down my favorite is Anonymous, the Shakespeare of the genre. Anonymous’swork spans the entire spectrum, from Victorian assignations to Steam Punktrysts.

Brenda& Steve: Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers we havenot touched on?

Ken: Iam working on the next volume of Sex Tales from West County with Erin O’Riordan.Billy is back, and is looking for some very specific kinds of hook-ups.

Sandra Bunino began a love ofromance stories while penning a creative writing assignment in high school. Sandra: Hey Brenda and Steve! I’m so happy to be on yourblog today. Thanks for having me. I started writing erotic romance when I felt unfulfilledwith many of the mainstream romance books I read. Then I discovered LyndaChance, an author I adored. She wrote her heroes just how I like them – tall,dark, sexy and very Alpha. After reading all of her books, I contacted her toget some advice about the publishing process. She was so encouraging I decidedtake the plunge and submitted my erotic novella, Maroonedin Miami, to Bradley Publishing. Bradley sent me a contract and afew months later it was out in the eBook marketplace.

Brenda & Steve: Please tell us a little about your newrelease, Marooned in Miami, withoutgiving too much of a spoiler away.

Sandra: Marooned in Miami is a saucy, sexy,sensual story about strangers brought together in a dark hotel elevator by afierce storm.

Sandra: I plan out certain physical and emotionaltraits but my characters definitely develop as the story unfolds. I find theysoon take on a life of their own. For example, in Marooned in Miami, Ioriginally wrote Jason as a gruff but sexy ultra Alpha hero. As the storyadvances, his rough edge softens slightly. This progression is important to thestory and the connection between Stephanie and Jason. (For the record, Jasonretains every ounce of sexiness. *smiles*

Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for yourbooks? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?

Sandra: I love sexy locales and have been to each location Iwrite about in my books. Marooned in Miami is set in a smallboutique hotel off Ocean Drive in South Beach. Other great locations that willend up in my stories are Las Vegas, New York City, Santa Monica, Martha’sVineyard, Cape May and Cozumel. I’m a fan of setting detail and like to be asaccurate as possible, so I even researched the type of wood used in thebanister and steps of the grand staircase at the Hotel Del Santos in Maroonedin Miami (chestnut – in case you’re curious).

Brenda & Steve: What is your writing process? Do yououtline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Sandra: I try to outline but the plan soon flies out thewindow; I’m a total Pantser!

Brenda & Steve: Do you write full time? What did you dobefore you became a writer or still do?

Sandra: My husband and I are working toward me writingfull time but currently I work in Human Resources. I actually find some greatmaterial on the job. I wrote a short story for an erotic anthology called FeltTips (Fall 2012 release) about a lustful office romance. The CEO andconsultant creatively found a loophole in the company’s “hands off” policy. *winks*

Brenda & Steve: Do you have a ritual when it comes towriting? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Sandra: I love to sit down to write with a nice glass of redwine (my current fav is Manage a Trois – it’s a Cali Zin/Cab/Merlot blend –delish!), my Mac and my maltipoo on my lap.

Brenda & Steve: Describe a typical writing day for you.

Sandra: I don’t have many “writing days,” more like “writingchunks of time.” I love to grab a corner table at my local Starbucks with mylaptop and a hot grande non-fat latte for a few hours where I can get lost inmy story.

Brenda & Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at yourfuture books. What’s on the horizon?

Sandra: I’m so excited about my 2012 line-up of releases.There is a sequel to Marooned in Miami underway titled Lustedin Las Vegas. Stephanie and Jason’s story will continue in Sin City!I’m also working on a summer release called Sara’s Smile -- I’mcurrently in edit mode on this one. It’s a sweet story about lost loversfinding each other years later. Yes, it’s sweet but also sexy as hell due tothe smoking hot chemistry between Sara and Will. I also have a WIP about amodern day pirate set in Cozumel. It’s my first foray into BDSM territory. I’mlooking forward to tearing into this one soon!

Brenda & Steve: What is your favorite genre to read andwho is your favorite author?

Sandra: I love to read anything in the romance genre but Ialso change it up a bit and throw in a good mystery here and there. There areso many fantastic authors out there, including those I consider friends andcolleagues, so I simply cannot chose one.

Brenda & Steve: Is there anything else you would like totell the readers we have not touched on?

Sandra: Shoes! I’m such a shoe girl. Last weekend I went ona buying spree and snatched up a few beauties. I have a blog called ALLTHINGS GIRL where I cover anything that would interest the fairer sex. I’vecovered thongs, music, men, even vibrators but the shoe posts garner the mostcomments. Chicks love their shoes!

Dylan and Rainie's Turn to Talk - Rainie's Lake, Characters Interview

Thank you for joining us today as we chat with Dylan and Rainie on the porch at the cabin. This is our first interview with characters and both let us know they wanted to chat! Now, we won't allow them to give spoilers away, but we do hope you'll come to love these two as we do.

We're sitting here enjoying the breathtaking view of the pine trees and the serene mountains. Dylan is making us coffee. He's such the host! Rainie will be here soon.

Later if you want to stretch your legs and walk about, you'll probably find Rainie down by the lake. She wanders in the fog early mornings and before dusk. Be careful by the lake's edge, the fog is thick and the water is freezing this time of year. The dock would be the safest place to stand and chat with her one on one.

Ah, here's Dylan now with steaming mugs to go around. Thanks Dylan!

Brenda & Steve: Dylan, we hope you're enjoying your vacation. Tell us a little bit about you and your job as an art instructor.

Dylan: You're welcome and actually I am! Well, *chuckles* I'm really pretty boring. I love to fish so when I saw the ad for the cabin with the private dock, and the spectacular view, I knew this place was my destination. I teach at the local arts & design college within a few miles of my home. Every quarter, I have the pleasure of instructing very gifted students; about 15 to 20 in the class. I guess being one of the youngest instructors helps too. My students and I really connect.

Brenda & Steve: We did hear the fishing is good in these parts. What prompted this alone time?

Dylan: This vacation was long over due since I haven't taken time for myself in four years. As you can see it's a beautiful area for an artist to get the creative juices flowing. I hoped to find inspiration to put the brush to canvas and I did. *grins*

Brenda & Steve: We see the grin on your face. And here's the reason! Hi Rainie, glad you have joined us.

*Dylan stands and offers Rainie his chair*

Rainie: *smiles, pulling the hood away from her head* Hi Brenda & Steve!

*Dylan rests his hand on her shoulder. Rainie places her hand over his, giving it a squeeze*

Brenda & Steve: Rainie, you're from this area. Tell us a little bit about yourself and growing up here.

Rainie: I grow up in the next town. After I graduated from college, I returned and taught at the grammar school. My parents rented this cabin a few times when I was a little girl. I have wonderful memories of playing out by the dock and on the lake that I try to keep in the forefront of my mind because there's a sad memory here too. *tightens her grip on Dylan's hand*

Brenda & Steve:*sighs* We know there are good times and bad times here, so let's keep the chat in a happy mode for now. Dylan, what was it about Rainie that drew you to her.

Dylan: *takes a lingering glance at Rainie* Her eyes captured me. They're a beautiful green and get darker depending on her mood. Oh, and her smile which reaches her eyes first. Ummm, her butt too; I loved watching her walk away but hoped she would always return. *winks at Rainie*

Brenda & Steve: That's so sweet and romantic! Rainie, same question to you. What drew you to Dylan?

Rainie: *blushes* Dylan, you just had to add how much you liked my backside! Let's see, he makes great coffee don't you think! *laughs* His boyish good looks, sandy hair and his kindness. I've never met a man as kind and giving as Dylan.

Tonya: Thanks Steve. Nice to meet you Dylan and Rainie. *takes a second look at Dylan from head to toe* He's a keeper, Rainie.

Brenda & Steve: (Brenda laughs) Tonya, hon, behave now.

Tonya: What? I was just saying. Actually I have a few questions to ask. If I may be so bold.

Brenda & Steve: *Steve winks at Tonya* Bren, you know Tonya loves being in control since the switch.

Tonya: *purrs* Yes, I cherish my new role. For my first question: What do each of you find attractive in the opposite sex?

Rainie: Well Tonya, I mentioned earlier kindness and how kind Dylan is. The other traits would be a good sense of humor, compassion and a good kisser.

Tonya: Oh, let me guess. Dylan is a good kisser among other things?

Rainie: Yes to all!

Dylan: *blushes* Okay, no kissing and telling here. Tonya, what I find most attractive in a female is a passion for life, a woman that keeps me smiling whether she is with me or I'm thinking of her. But most of all, a woman who doesn't give up and goes after what she wants or needs to do.

Tonya: Well this brings me to my other question. *turns to look at Rainie* Rainie, you had a tragic past. What made you think Dylan would be the one to believe and help you?

Rainie: *bites her lower lip, looks at Dylan* He cares for people and how they feel. I tried many times to get other people, who came to the cabin, to listen to me. No one believed me. Dylan did. I wish I could go back and change my life, and met Dylan back then; my life would have been so different.

Dylan: *kneels down beside Rainie, looks up at Tonya* We both wish we knew each other before the incident.

Tonya: Thank goodness I brought tissues! *reaches in her leather coat pocket*

Brenda & Steve: (Brenda) *sniffs* Okay, I'm getting teary-eyed all over again here. Rainie and Dylan, thank you for chatting with us today. Tonya, we're so glad you drove up to visit. It'll be dusk soon and we want to leave before the fog rolls in.

Rainie: *stands* I need to take my walk near the lake. Dylan, we'll work on the sketch later this evening?

Dylan: *rises, takes Rainie's hand and softly kisses her lips* Sure Rainie. Just a few more touches and I'll be ready to paint.

"Best First Love of 2011" - This is a hard one. Thank goodness we watch 'Extra'! LOL Yes we do, to kill time before we go to bed.

Our best first love for 2011 couple is Justine Timberlake and Jessica Biel. We know you probably laughed out really loud.

But JT has come a long way from 'N Sync. We enjoyed his acting in The Social Network, Friends with Benefits and In Time (really good movie). Yea, we know he pulled that stunt with Janet Jackson during Super Bowl half-time. Don't be fooled - it was planned.

And well, Jessica Biel is just one hot babe no matter what she does. We watched her as Mary on 7th Heaven as she grew up from goody-goody teen to become a rebellious young adult. Jessica left the show to pursue her acting career.

Exes Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel were spotted out together over the holiday weekend, sparking claims the couple have decided to give their 4-year relationship another try. Ummm....The First Breakup or Makeup. Let's see. What can we say about either one. Sometimes we break up because it's the best thing for both parties. But then again, this person may become your "What If". You know what we're talking about! LOL And making up is sometimes the harder thing to do. Because you have to either admit you were wrong and apologize, or you have to forgive someone for something that really hurt.

This Valentine's Day, we hope you're in a very happy place. Whether you're single, married, engaged, living with your partner or just begun dating, you have to love yourself before you can give love to someone else.

Today we share Janet and Nathan's makeup from Best Lover in Town. Now this blurb is going to give away a few spoilers. You're thinking Ah Man! We know! But it's perfect for this theme. Enjoy! (we deleted a little to keep it P13!)

Janet can’t concentrate during thenext workshop. She sneaks out to go back to her room. As she enters she seesthe message light blinking on the phone. The message is from Nathan. He tellsher he wants to explain about Madison and leaves his room number. Before shehangs up, she hears him say “Come to my room at seven thirty so we can talk.”

Janet strips before crawling intothe bed. She dozes off while tears stream down her cheeks.
She wakes abruptlyseeing it is six thirty. Getting up out of the bed, she goes in to the bathroomand turns on the shower as hot as she can stand it. While washing, she runs herhands over her breasts remembering Nathan’s touch.

After she turns off the shower,she pats dry. She dries her hair leaving it loose to cascade down her back. “Iwill dress to kill just to show him what he has missed.” She walks over to thecloset and decides on a black slim skirt along with a silk blue blouse. Puttingback on the garter belt and black hose, she sprays cologne behind her knees andthe inside of her thighs. She puts on her bra and lightly sprays her neck andwrists with more cologne. As she buttons up the blouse, she looks in themirror. My black heels with the anklestraps will be perfect.

“Okay. I think I am ready forthis,” she mutters, straightening her shoulders and heads to Nathan’s room.

Nathan is pacing in his room. Hetakes a deep breath when he hears a knock on his door. He looks through thepeephole. It’s Janet. Looking around the room to make sure everything is inplace, he opens the door. “Hi Janet, I was afraid you wouldn’t come.” He takesin her beauty but notices her steely eyes.

“Nathan, you said you wanted toexplain. Well I’m here to listen.” She walks over to lean against the desk,crosses her arms and looks around the room. Dwelling on how good he looks injeans and a turtleneck, she notices a table set for two.

“I thought we’d have dinner. Ihaven’t eaten. Have you?” Nathan smiles nervously.

“No. I didn’t plan to stay verylong. Tell me what’s going on between you and Madison.”

“First of all, Madison and I areNOT serious. We’ve seen each other a few times and chatted over the internet.”

“So you’re the hot guy.” Janetlaughs.

“What? I tried to call you severaltimes after I left. Madison told me you were caught up in meetings. Afterawhile she told me that you weren’t accepting my calls.”

“I guess we’ve both been fooled byMaddie.” She shakes her head, walking over to the sofa to sit down.

“It doesn’t matter now. Madison hasalready returned to Portland.” Nathan joins her on the sofa but not too close.He wants to touch her although he’s not sure how Janet will react. “I have totell you something because I want to clear the air between us. I moved back inwith my ex-wife. We tried to rekindle our relationship. We soon determined wewere only getting back together because of Brandon’s illness.”

“How is Brandon?” Janet momentarilyforgets her anger and looks at him with sympathy.

“He’s much better. He’s givingCarey grief as young boys are supposed to do.” He laughs. “Carey remarried ayear ago and Brandon adores his new step-dad.”

As Janet starts to speak there is aknock on the door.

“I ordered room service hoping youwould stay a while.”

Janet’s stomach growls and shemoves her hand to rest there.

Nathan chuckles.

Janet smiles in spite of herself.“I’m hungry plus I want to share a few things with you too.”

Nathan opens the door allowing thebusboy to roll the cart next to the table. “I didn’t know what to order for youso I just ordered a salad and sandwiches. He signs the receipt.

Janet walks over to the cart andlifts one of the covers; to her surprise Nathan has ordered BLTs. There aresliced carrots and cucumbers on the salad. Janet doubles over with laughter.

“What’s so funny?” Nathan asks.

“Have I got some stories to tellyou!”

Nathan and Janet sit down to eat.As Janet is eating her BLT, she is making cute moaning sounds.

Janet is thinking how this is thebest BLT she has ever had.

“What did you want to share withme?”

As Janet finishes the last of herBLT, she sighs and plucks Nathan’s pen out of his pocket. “Maddie told you I waswith someone. That’s not quite true. I’ve had several lovers since you left.”She plays with the pen and reaches over to grab a napkin off the cart. Janettells Nathan how she met each lover along with Madison’s role in her meeting afew of them.

He listens intently, watching Janetwrite down the men’s names.

“I was looking for the magic weshared together. Not one of them compared to you.”

Nathan picks up the napkin,glancing at each name. He takes the pen from Janet and adds his name above andbelow the other names. “Seems you were looking for me all along,” he says as hecircles the first letter of each name. He returns the napkin to her.

She looks at the circled letters:N-A-T-H-A-N “If this is my fate, my search is complete,” she says. “I’ll beright back.”

Nathan watches her walk to thebathroom, considering how lucky he was to run into her again. As he is toyingwith his salad, Janet leans out of the bathroom.

“You know this garden tub in hereis really going to waste.” She tosses her skirt on the floor in front of him.

Ummmm, The First Kiss! Remember your first kiss? Our first kiss was in the Seattle Airport in Washington State. Steve flew up to Seattle from Dallas, TX to go to my Christmas party in December 2008. Now we had not seen each other in 30 years and we were just friends in high school. I remember waiting for him to come through to baggage claim. I was so nervous and excited. But I walked right up and planted one on him. I had dreamed of those lips for months! LOL

Today we share the First Kiss with Scarlett and Garrett from our up coming release Scarlett's Cowboy.

Too embarrassed to walk through the crowd, Scarlettquickly exits out the back door.

As she walks around the building, she sees a familiarfigure, with a hat low over the face, leaning against the wall.

Shit, I hope hedidn’t see the whole show.

“Hey, I saw you up on stage.” Garrett grins, shovingup his hat as she continues to walk by. “Scarlett, I whistled as loud as Icould when the voting was for you.”

Damn.Turning around and placing her hand on her hips, she hopes she is giving himthe steeliest look she can muster up. “Glad you enjoyed the view. Now I have toget home.”

“What’s the hurry? Charlotte is still inside.”

Looking over at the truck, Scarlett realizes Charlotte is still inside. “She’ll notice I’m goneand come looking for me.”

Garrett takes a few steps closer. Scarlett breathesin his woodsy aftershave. His denim shirt is only half buttoned, giving a peekof his tight pecks and abs. Groaning, Scarlett turns to walk away, trying toignore the attraction she feels. A hand on her arm pulls her gently back.Tipping her head up, she closes her eyes.

Chuckling, Garrett grabs her other arm. “You think Iwant to kiss you?”

As he pulls her against his chest, she opens her eyesand tries to lift her hand to smack him on the cheek.

“Well, you’re damn right I do.” Crushing his lips tohers, he then softens the kiss by running his tongue along her upper lip.

Slipping his tongue through her parting lips, heexplores while Scarlett reciprocates by dancing her tongue along the undersideof his. Her knees weaken as his soft lips widen to engulf her breath, causingher to whimper. His arms tighten around her waist as she hangs her arms aroundhis neck giving in to the best kiss she has ever received.

Garrett brings his head back and gazes into her eyes.“God, you’re a good kisser. I wonder what else you’re good at. Can’t ride ahorse though.” He chuckles.

“Do you always have to tease? Damn you, Garrett.” Shruggingout of his arms and stomping back into the bar, she goes in search of Charlotte.

SCARLETT GIBSON is an intimidated city girl. She is not a 10more like a 7, can’t find a steady boyfriend and her sex life sucks. She leavesNew York to takea sabbatical from work where she is overworked and mistreated. Her twin sisterCharlotte has invited her to stay at their Grandpa Joe’s ranch in Canton, Texas.

It's the weekend! Time to relax right? LOL I know weekend's are catch-up days on cleaning, laundry and those other nasty words. Yuck. But we're glad you took a break to stop by here and the other blogs in the hop; which you can visit by clicking the links below.

Mmmm, the First Dance. Was your first a slow, a fast dance or did you do some sensual grinding? Steve and mine was a slow dance. He's not much of a fast dancer and that's okay. Although I like to get on the dance floor and shake my booty now and then. He watches! Tell us in your comment about your First Dance.

When was the last time you went dancing together? On Valentine's this year, go out and show those moves. Or if you're staying home, turn on some music and dance to enhance the romantic mood.

A familiar tune came on and he asked me to dance. Wedanced together until his legs were like noodles. He sat down at the table andI added an extra dance just for him attempting to get him back on his feet. Aslow tune came on the radio and I danced solo as I’ve never done before.

I don’t know what came over me. Was it the mood in theair? Or was it the feeling of freedom with him? Whatever it was, the longer Idanced for him, the more he became aroused. I could see his pants getting tighterin the crotch area. I loved the feeling of being able to please a man, but itbothered me a bit since he wasn’t Thomas.

Whatwas I doing? What would people think of me if they knew I was married to someoneelse? I wanted to run to my room, but he saw the dilemma on my face and convincedme to stay and just talk. I sat down at the table and talked about where my mindhad gone. I told him I had wanted to dance for Thomas but he never seemed to beinterested in anything I wanted to do. We talked about our dreams and desiresuntil the sun came up.

I’ve never opened up to anyone the details of my longingslike I did tonight, not even with Thomas. He listened to my aspirations; maybehe will tell me his next time. I’m looking forward to meeting up with him afterI get some rest.

“Damn, you added clothes to your outfit!” He exclaims ashe opens the door.

She hands him the bottle of wine as they walk into thekitchen.

“I hope you like fish,” he says, opening the wine.

“I love fish,” she replies, seeing the seasoned fish nextto the grill.

There is a boiling pot of water on the stove waiting forpasta to be added. She turns her head noticing a table set for two with candlesin the dining room. Two salads are prepared on the table.

“I love a man who knows his way around a kitchen. Where isyour apron, Mr. Lips?”

“I love to cook. Next time I promise to have only an apronon, just for you,” he responds, pouring two glasses of wine.

“I don’t think much cooking would take place if you did.”She sits down with her wine to watch him cook.

“You’re probably right.” He laughs, adding the pasta tothe boiling water.

The fish sizzles as he places it on the grill. After a fewminutes of cooking he cuts off a piece of fish to have her savor the firstbite.

“Mm, this is fabulous.” She walks over to the table toretrieve the plates.

They take their filled plates and wine glasses to adjournto the dining room.

After a quick dinner they retire with their wine to theliving room. They remove their shoes to get comfortable as they sit on thesofa.

“Dinner was great; I can’t wait to see what other secrettalents you have.”

“I’m a man of many talents.” He grins, waiting for anopening to show her.

“Oh, to hell with the rules on first or second dates!”Katherine exclaims as she pulls Sean off the sofa.

She starts unzipping his jeans while dragging him towardthe staircase.

Their lips lock in a frenzied kiss while Sean pullsKatherine’s shirt up to her chest. He only stops the kiss long enough to pullthe shirt over her head. He lowers her Capri’sas they ease up the steps.

Katherine rips open his shirt. Buttons fly everywhere. Clothesare discarded along the path as he lift s her up on his hips. She locks herlegs around his waist. Entering his bedroom, Sean lays her down on the bed. Hetakes in her beautiful body before lying down beside her.

Katherine takes his head in her hands to push his mouthnear her breast. “I do believe this is where we left off,” she says out ofbreath.

Hello again! We hope some of you are returning to read the "First Touch". Those of you new here, Welcome! and when you've finished reading this post head over to the other blogs and comment, and then come back, scroll down a bit to read Dylan and Rainie's first kiss from Rainie's Lake.

Ohhh, the First Touch. Whether it be a brush with a shoulder, a touch on your arm or their breath on your cheek or hair, the currents from this touch send shock waves all the way to your nerve endings and the feeling is electrifying!

Not only will the first kiss make you weak in the knees, but a touch on a certain part of you body can too. On Valentine's Day, caress their arm, trace your fingers down their chest or back, or wrap your arms around them for an intimate hug. Touching is very sensual.

Today we are sharing Janet and Nathan's first touch from Best Lover in Town.

Janet leans over the table.

Nathan has a nice view of herbackside. Nice long legs.

“Would you like something todrink?”

“Just a beer if it’s not tooinconvenient.” Nathan watches Janet walk away into the kitchen. He considerswhat it would be like to run his hands down her body while kissing her. Okay, keep your mind on work.

Janet returns with two bottles ofbeer.

“Ah, someone knows their beer.” Hetakes the chilled, dark brew from her hand. Again their fingers touch, thistime they linger a few extra seconds.

“I think what our client is lookingfor is a worldly attitude,” Janet says to break the silence. She turns backtoward the table in thought.

Nathan can see her long neck as herhead is arched back. He imagines the roundness of her breasts underneath hert-shirt. Nathan steps closer not realizing that if Janet turns around she wouldbe against his chest.

Janet can feel his breath on herhair.

“Janet, I want you to know, I…” Hestops.

“Yes?” She waits expectantly.

Nathan can’t help himself anylonger. He whispers in her hair. “I want you.”

"First Sight"

Awww, the first time you lay eyes on a certain someone who made your heart skip a beat, your lips parted while you sucked in a breath and other parts of your body tingled.

We all have experienced this erotic sense. Remember your First Sight when you are gazing into the eyes of your certain someone on Valentine's Day.

Today we share when Dylan first saw Rainie in our latest release Rainie's Lake.

Waking up early the next morning,Dylan doesn’t want to miss the best time of the day to fish. He grabs his coatto get a few logs from beside the porch and starts a fire to take the chill outof the cabin. Laying his coat over the back of a chair, he makes a pot ofcoffee, and looks out the kitchen window. To his disappointment, a thick foghas rolled over the lake. Damn! Well, nowI’ll have to wait until the fog lifts. The fire crackles as it burns andthe smell of pine drifts in the air. He stands before the fire, andcontemplates about drawing until noon. Nah,I’ll just take a walk around outside. When the coffee is ready, he dons thecoat again and heads out onto the back deck, steaming cup in hand.

As he looks around, his gaze landson a slim figure standing by the shore not too far from the dock. The fog is sothick he can’t see whether it’s male or female.

“Hello?” Dylan calls out and goesdown the steps. As the pine needles crunch beneath his boots, he hopes whoever itis hears him approaching.

As he gets closer, the person turnstowards him.

Dylan is taken aback.

It’s a woman. The most beautifulwoman he’s ever seen in his life. Her green eyes sparkle in contrast to herlong dark hair. She smiles back at him.

“Hi, I’m Dylan Bishop. I’m stayingat the cabin.” He points behind him. “Are you from around here? Sorry I’mbabbling. I didn’t expect to see anyone here.”

Her soft laugh is like music. “I’mRainie Marks. Glad to meet you. And to answer your question, yes, I grew up inthe next town.”

“I was hoping to take the boat outand do some fishing this morning.” Dylan attempts to keep her in aconversation. God, she’s so beautiful.

“There’s usually a heavy fog in themornings on the lake. I like to walk around the shore at daybreak. This is myfavorite place to stand and just take it all in.” Rainie widens her arms out toemphasize her meaning but then quickly pulls her arms back around her chest.“The fog also causes the temperatures to drop.”

Pulling his coat tighter aroundhim, Dylan feels the cold dampness. “Hey, I just brewed coffee. Would you likea cup? Come on up to the cabin where it’s warm.”

He notices her skepticalexpression. “We can sit on the deck if you feel more comfortable stayingoutside.”

“I think I can trust you, DylanBishop. Coffee sounds good.” Her smile is more in her eyes than on her lips asshe steps over to walk beside him.

Author Interview - Amelia James aka Trashy Writer Feb 2 - 5

Today we welcome our trashy friend.. oops Amelia James, Author of Erotica. LOL We jest because Amelia's mind is always in the gutter. And with this guttural imagination she writes very sexy books! Before we get to the Q&As, here's a little bit about Amelia. BTW, there's a giveaway from Amelia. The details are below!

Amelia James started reading steamy romance novels in juniorhigh, but her mom took them away from her, so she started daydreaming instead.After she got married, she wrote some of her naughtier daydreams down and sentthem to Playgirl magazine. Two ofthem got published. She kept daydreamingand writing stories until her dirty stories turned into trashy books.

She lives in Colorado, but she’ll always be a loyal Wisconsin Cheesehead. When she’s not lusting after her next bad boy hero, she looks for inspiration in sci-fi and action movies, football players, bloodsucking lawyers, muscle cars, and kick-butt chicks.

Really though, Amelia is very sweet. (making up for the joke up there - she may get the crop after us!) We met her through Twitter and we retweet for each other. One great way authors help each other to get our name and books out there.

Brenda & Steve: Amelia, welcome to our blog! We’re soexcited you could join us for a chat. When did you first decide to submit yourwork to be published? Tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step.

Amelia: The first time I submitted anything to be publishedwas when I read some of PlaygirlMagazine’s reader fantasy stories. I knew I could write something just asgood or better. I sent in three stories and two of them got published—one as fantasyof the month. (Halloween Treats. It’son my blog.) Ten years and dozens of unpublished steamy short stories later, Istarted writing Tell Me You Want Meas a short story, but the characters had a lot of story to tell, so I turned itinto my first romance novel. I loved it and I didn’t want it to go unread likeall my other stories so I self-published it last March.

Brenda & Steve: Please tell us a little about your newrelease, Consuming Him, withoutgiving too much of a spoiler away.

Amelia: I released my erotic short story, Consuming Him last Halloween becauseit’s a dark sexy romp. Dark turns me on. Wow. Trapped in a dark house shedoesn’t remember, Lily flees the monster pursuing her. But as her memoriesreturn, she realizes he isn’t the one to be feared…she is. Jonathan wants Lily.He wants his freedom, but he’s torn between his desire to escape and themonstrous lust holding him prisoner between her thighs. It’s available free on Smashwords.

Brenda & Steve: Plus another of your latest releases Tell Me You Want Me . Actually you've been quite busy this year! Do you plan all your characters outbefore you start a story or do they develop as you write?

Amelia: Oh yes. Characters drive my stories so I have toknow who they are before I can write. Parts of their personality will developalong the way, but for the most part, I know them well before I start typing.

Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for yourbooks? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?

Amelia: Not as much as I should, I’m sure. I write romanceand erotica, relationships and sex so I draw heavily on my own experiences.(No, I’m not confessing anything.) But through my, ahem, research I learned tonever drip candle wax in the same place twice. Ouch.

Brenda & Steve: What is your writing process? Do yououtline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Amelia: I do a little of both. I write a very basic outlineso I know where I’m going, but I rarely know how I’m going to get there. That’shalf the fun.

Brenda & Steve: Just like us. We create an outline, then we become pantsers prior ti deadline. Do you write full time? What did you dobefore you became a writer or still do?

Amelia: I am a full-time writer, a full-time mom, and apart-time domestic goddess. (I say part-time because the dust bunnies under mybed are organizing a revolt.) I had a lot of dead-end, mind-numbing day jobsthat aren’t worth mentioning.

Brenda & Steve: Do you have a ritual when it comes towriting? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Amelia: I must have quiet and a comfy place for my laptop. Agood night’s sleep helps too. I’m a morning person so I write before baby andhusband get up.

Brenda & Steve: Describe a typical writing day for you.

Amelia: I get up between 5 and 6 am seven days a week, andif I’m lucky, I have until 8 am to write. That’s it. The baby takes a nap atlunch, but I can’t count on it, and I’m worn out after she goes to bed, soearly morning is my only writing time.

Brenda & Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at your futurebooks. What’s on the horizon?

Amelia: I just finished the first draft of an erotic shortstory collection, Her Twisted Pleasures.It’s a series of stories about three (yes, 3) people and their twistedrelationship with each other. I plan to submit it to a few indie publishers, soI’m hoping it’ll be available by the end of this year. I also have ideas forsome romance novels related to the stories.

Brenda & Steve: What is your favorite genre to read andwho is your favorite author?

Amelia: I love historical romance, especially Scottish. Menin kilts! Some of my favorite authors are Kinley MacGregor, Karen Marie Moning,and Theresa Mederios.

Brenda & Steve: Is there anything else you would like totell the readers we have not touched on?

Amelia: I say I write trashy romance novels with my tongueplanted firmly in my cheek. Yes, there’s a lot of sex in my books, but that’swhat I like reading so that’s what I like writing. I don’t believe romancenovels are trashy, and I don’t believe sex is dirty (anymore).

If someone asked me to describe this story in one word itwould be ‘Beautiful’. Katie Salidas has beautifully crafted a vampire story.From the very first chapter, the action begins and draws you in. You feel allthe emotions Alyssa; a young college student is going through as she isattacked while walking alone one night. She can’t protect herself from herattackers and knows this will be her last night on this earth.

Little do the two perverted men, who want to rape and killher, know that their lives will end and Alyssa’s will actually begin?

Alyssa’s savior is Lysander. I loved rolling his name in mymind and a few times said it out loud while reading. Lysander destroys herassailants and finds Alyssa near death. He gives her a gift thinking this isthe only way to make an apology to her for not intervening sooner.

The gift is what Alyssa has a hard time accepting.Vampirism. Now she belongs to Lysander as his protégé to instruct on how tolive as an immortal. But along with her new master come sexual desires, othersecrets, and a nemesis, and vampire hunters that will have Alyssa againfighting for her life and Lysander’s.

I enjoyed thehistory Katie entwined, how she describes Alyssa’s stubbornness at letting goof her old life and trying to handle her nocturnal one. Highly recommendingthis book, I give it 5 stars. I’m sure the rest of the series will be just asgood; Immortalis, Hunters & Prey and Immortalis, Pandora’s Box.

And I had to look Carpe Noctem up to see what the meaningwas (okay this is my first vampire read!).

What is the most exciting thing, for you,about writing this genre as a couple?

Brenda: Hi Adri Ana, love your site and its comfyhere! *settling on the sofa beside Steve, places her hand on his thigh* Theopen communication we have! We ask each other questions that other coupleswouldn’t dare ask. Writing with Steve is awesome and the research iswell......very good. *winks*

Steve: *placing his arm around Brenda’s neck*Communication is the key but writing with Brenda is a dream job. I've learned alot from her by being able to discuss sexual things other men only wonderabout. The wish-bone questions that if they ask their lovers, could take them intoa new direction in the relationship.

Ana: Hi back atcha, and thanks for joining us in this four-way… *grins*conversation! Typically, romance is written by women, for women. However, abouttwenty percent of the readership of romance is men, and I’m guessing thatpercentage is higher in the more sexually explicit end of the romance spectrum.I also suspect a lot of women who read romance wish their partners could getinterested in it and join them – in much the same ways many couples useexplicit videos together. Adri and I gotexcited about writing as a couple, for couples, offering a little somethingfor everyone. We highly recommend that couples read our books together, and forme, that’s exciting. Well, and we love the research, too.

Adri: What will the characters demand of us next? That's the question that often drives theplotting, the writing, even the editing. The excitement boils over in the process of getting stories on the pageuntil we all – the writers and the characters – agree that we've got it downthe best that we can. We are oftenawakened in the night with a new plot twist that a heroine won't let usignore. Or an imposing hero has takenumbrage with how his role is shortchanged. The excitement is definitely in the process. Hopefully some of that excitement seepsthrough the narrative and into thedialogue and action.

How did you get started writingtogether?

Steve: Brenda and I had classes together in highschool. When our 30th reunion was getting close, we both were looking for oldfriends. Brenda found me on MySpace but I didn't include my last name, justthat I went to Bradwell. She asked me which Steve I was and I asked "Howmany Steves do you know?" She started naming all the Steves she knew butnot me. I told her I was in the band and she knew exactly who I was. That wasthe beginning of a beautiful relationship. As we emailed back and forth, cellnumbers were exchanged and we found ourselves talking several times a day. Iasked Brenda what was on her ‘Bucket List’ because the movie was out at thetime. We learned we both had written poems and wanted to be published.

Brenda: I like how Steve's answer this question in an interview!

Adri: We'd done a lot of writing together in over our careers, bothcritiquing each other's work and co-authoring, so when we got around to writingfiction we already had a fair amount of experience with trying to put thoughtsdown on paper as a team.

Ana: Well, and much like Brenda and Steve, each of us had harbored dreamsof writing fiction since at least our teen years. About ten years ago we had some serious “whatdo we want the rest of our lives to look like” discussions and this was onedream we decided to commit to. Westarted plotting and drafting our first novel (which has never been publishedand probably never should be), I shopped it at my first RWA meeting, we tookworkshops together, kept submitting and honing our skills, and finally in 2006our first erotic romance was published.

What made you decide erotica/erotic romancewas what you wanted to write?

Brenda: I had written a story, just a few pages,back in 2004 hoping to submit to Harlequin or a romance pub house. I reallydidn’t think the story would be good enough to publish, so I set it aside. WhenSteve and I reconnected, we discussed our ‘Bucket List’. Mine was to bepublished. I mentioned the story, he asked me to email it to him and from there“Best Lover in Town” was born.

Steve: After I read Brenda's story, I asked herwhat she thought about making it erotic. After researching to see if there wasa market for erotica, she agreed. We used this opportunity to discuss all ofour fantasies, likes and dislikes as we wrote “Best Lover in Town”. Thisallowed us to reconnect and learn about each other. We wrote BLT apart fromeach other by connecting our computers, Brenda was in Portland, OR and I was inDallas, TX. The final chapter was written together on the road when I moved herto Dallas.

Adri: When agents and editors assessed some of our early non-erotic fictionmanuscripts, we consistently received very positive feedback about our lovescenes and our ability to write sexual tension. Then one asked, "have you considered writing eroticromance?" We hadn't. But the question spurred us on to ask,"why not?" And so we embarkedon an even more amazing writing journey.

Ana: Another clue we were on the right track was the realization, for eachof us, that our erotic scenes turned uson. We always read all our scenes out loud as we progress through drafting eachof our books, and if the scene doesn’t succeed, we know we have to go back tothe drawing board (or, perhaps, the choreography *grins*).

What do you hope readers take away from yourbooks?

Brenda: I hope readers will be able to share withtheir significant other the secret fantasies they crave to try. Our books are very sexual and we don’t holdback on anything under the sheets, in the kitchen or in the shower!

Steve: We write as a couple with both the male andfemale point of view. This gives the reader a realistic insight to what ishappening. Even as a writer, I'm learning how a woman thinks and what shefeels. I hope the reader will learn from all the exhausting research wedo. *wink*

Adri: We hope readers – individuals, couples, and more-somes – will beaffirmed and inspired, perhaps giving themselves permission to dream fantasiesthat they thought were verboten, or giving themselves permission to trysomething different, to experiment, to risk to spice up their sexualjourney/s. Our characters often do thatfor us. When we assume we are writingtheir stories they tend to remind us sometimes rather sharply that we are butthe scribes writing the stories they wish to share with us. There have been many moments when ourcharacters take us down paths that we remain uncertain about following. Usually they prove to be trustworthy and true,and we benefit from their adventuresome natures. We sincerely hope our readers also reap thosebenefits.

Ana: Couldn’t have said it better. Our characters have a great time and getvery inventive in their sex lives – we want our readers to come along for theride and have a good time, alone or together. Above all we hope readers areinspired to enjoy their own sexuality across their entire life span. We surelyintend to!

Who do you consider your target audience tobe?

Brenda: Hard question. I see more 30 yrs of age andover purchasing our books.

Steve: I thought our sells would have been morefemales, but the numbers have been about equal. We have sold several books tomen who gave them to their girlfriends or wives.

Adri: Women and men of legal age who find reading about the sexuallyadventurous to be entertaining. Weseldom write pure erotica, so we write for an audience that enjoys sexuallyexplicit romance. While our charactersoften have to deal with real life challenges and tragedies, we write happyendings—or at least endings suggest the characters will work out satisfyingendings, whether we are watching or not. Within this broad audience of people curious about the sexuallyadventurous, we do single out at times older heroes and heroines as our"boomer" characters meet the challenge of nurturing and maintainingsexual lives throughout the lifespan. More and more, research and anecdotal evidence suggests that whilesexual practices may have to adapt to the inevitable changes of aging, they donot need to be tucked away in a closet of memories, but can continue to beembraced and acted out in many rewarding and uplifting ways. Therefore, our characters offer the hope ofsexually fulfilling lives at whatever age.

Ana: ‘Nuff said.

Has (or, how has) writing this genre togetherimpacted your relationship with each other?

Brenda: Besides being able to talk about everything,we are very close. So close, we don’t like to be apart for very long. Steve’smy best friend.

Steve: That's why we write together; eight hoursaway at a job is too hard for us. When we did work at separate jobs, we talkedon the phone during all our breaks. We also complete each other's thoughts ineveryday conversations and when writing. Since we write erotica, we always havesexual conversations. This keeps our relationship in tune and interesting as weresearch all desires many couples keep secret.

Ana: We had to get comfortable with challenging each other and takinghonest critique in ways most of the rest of our marriage hasn’t required.Coordinating and agreeing, not just on the syntax and writing style, but on howa scene unfolds, what a character might be experiencing, which words to bestconvey it to the reader – it can easily be a tussle, not for the weak atheart. On the up side? Writing eroticromance together has directly fed our relationship, deepened our bond andspiced up our own love life. Sometimes our characters come up with things we’venever thought of trying – never mind whether we do everything our charactersdo; even the fantasies are definitely worth it.

Adri: There is little doubt that ourrelationship, sexual and otherwise, is more robust given that as writers wemust live and breathe what we write. That doesn't mean we've tried everything our characters find themselvesdoing. But at the very least it meansthey continue to stretch our imaginations! We've had the fun and good fortune of visiting many places around theglobe that spawn plots and twists and enticing characters—at least, enticingfor us. For example, we often say andalmost expect Meghan from the Meghan's Playhouse series to pop in and surpriseus one of these days for a weekend romp.

What special qualities do you believe youoffer readers because you are writing as a couple?

Brenda: I think our readers/fans see our happyrelationship in the comments and post we do on FB and blogger. That we arereal, very down to earth and caring of others and each other.

Steve: Brenda and I are each other's biggest fan.We can discuss anything openly without fear of being put down. I hope thereader can learn from us as a team to please their significant other by seeingboth points of view.

Adri: We hope we offer experiences that both halves of a couple can identifywith and fantasize about.

Ana: What he said. We hope we’re able to reachinside both genders to write realistic characters, and that we’re able to plumbthe depths of real relationships.

Do you have any advice for other coupleswho’d like to write this genre together?

Steve: Ask questions to each other and answerhonestly to get their point of view. When Brenda and I first started writingthere were several times when we said, “A man/woman wouldn't say that, or feelthat way”. By talking it out thoroughly, we’ve learned more and more. Don't beafraid of deep, open talks with each other. What you’ll learn will make you abetter writer, lover, and friend.

Ana: It’s pretty crazy and fraught with danger –don’t go there unless your relationship is really solid.

Adri: I'm not sure I see it as so dangerous—but Idefinitely agree if your relationship isn't solid, don't go there. Once you begin to seriously write eroticromance together it will never be just the two of you again. A new heroine, a new hero won't let you restuntil you at least begin to tell their story. They will share your lives completely.

Ana: I can’t resist adding – the extra(fictional) bedfellows sure make life interesting! To clarify, though – thedanger I meant was the risk of relationship conflict that might arise fromhaving to challenge each other’s creative products in order to make thecombined product even better. What’s fascinating is how frequently it’s thecharacters who fuel the conflict, and who then resolve it, if we listen tothem.

Brenda: I was going to leave this question for Steve to only answer... but LOL I agree with you Anna. Writing as a couple, you can't be in competition with each other. Both of the team should be good with coming up with ideas, titles and characters. One or the other will have stronger traits such as adding the fluff or better with character names. Just blend your story together, go back over it, and have Adobe Reader read it aloud to you. Edit!

We have Sascha Illyvich visiting with us for a few days. Sascha has been proclaimed by the Publishing industry as the Bad Boy of Romance. He started writing eleven years ago and his erotic romances have been listed under the Night Owl Romance and Road to Romance’s Recommended read list, as well nominated for a CAPA by The Romance Studio.

A native of Texas, Sascha moved to sunny California seven years ago. He is very busy man with blogging, radio, and writing. Brenda & Steve: Sascha, welcome to our blog! We’re so excited you could join us for a chat. When did you first decide to submit your work to be published? Tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step.

Sascha: Thank you for having me. I decided twelve years ago to make writing my career and then I submitted to Sizzler Editions and eXtasy books. Mistress Koi, Emma Holly and a very well known historical romance author pushed me when I emailed them and asked how to get into this business. Her name escapes me but if I remember I'll add it in the comments!

Brenda & Steve: Please tell us a little about your new release Surrender to Love, without giving too much of a spoiler away.

Sascha: In order to cure the dreaded creative rut she’s in, Livia ends up in Las Vegas by suggestion from her therapist. Oh and there’s a catch. Livia ‘s been set up to have a one night stand with a very handsome man who promises her freedom through submission. Can she surrender to more than just passion? I pulled the idea from a scene in Diane Whiteside's book "The Irish Devil".

Brenda & Steve: Love the cover! Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write?

Sascha: I plan and plot meticulously if the story is over 40k. If the story is 20k or less it's a very simple plot that every reader should be able to relate to. I'm very methodical because I value my time as a writer and you know in business, time is money.

Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for your books? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?

Sascha: Depends on the plot. I've been on a Burn Notice kick so the spy world, guns, fighting, all get researched. So far, cool tidbits…nothing I could think of offhand.

Brenda & Steve: What is your writing process? Do you outline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Sascha: I'm a meticulous plotter. I'd like to educe that all writers really should write this way simply because it makes the writing process go so much faster, then the only pain is editing I use a plotting pad template my mentor gave me years ago.

Brenda & Steve: Do you write full time? What did you do before you became a writer or still do?

Sascha: I do write full time. I also edit for Sizzler Editions, handling their erotic romance line. In a former life I was tech support for Microsoft.

Brenda & Steve: Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Sascha: Usually I start off eating, down a cup or three of green tea while handing social media then when it comes time to put pen to paper, I start drinking. Liquor. Usually bourbon or scotch though I've found a number of higher alcohol content beers (like Arrogant Bastard) that help stave off hunger and let me write still.

Brenda & Steve: Describe a typical writing day for you.

Sascha: I write by word count. Usually my goal is to hit 2,500 words unless I'm really close to finishing a book. So I crank up the stereo with a good selection of dark, heavy, angry metal and get my ass in the chair and don’t leave until I've finished at LEAST that. Then depending on time left in a two hour sprint, I play "I can do how many more words til I've hit an extra 500? So if I end up with 2640 (a typical number!) I know that if I push it, I can get that extra 360 words. If I go more, I may try to push to 3,500. It also depends on how my body/back feels and if my wrists aren't sore by then.

Brenda & Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at your future books. What’s on the horizon?

Sascha: I'm planning a third 1Night Stand book that is tentatively titled "His Virgin" and will also be a "BDSM light" story where the bondage and kink can be done and imagined by any reader. This will involve a mouthy Scottish woman and an old flame.

Brenda & Steve: What is your favorite genre to read and who is your favorite author?

Sascha: Favorite genre: Paranormal romance. I get to feel more through that genre. Favorite authors include Diane Whiteside, Christina Dodd, Lora Leigh, Lori Foster.

Brenda & Steve: Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers we have not touched on?

Sascha: As the bad boy of romance and one of the very few males writing this genre I'd like to mention that it's been a fun ride. So many bodies…so much seduction…so many women LOL!

Rachel is joining us on a pit stop during her virtual book tour to promote her latest release The Mancode: Exposed. Before we get to the Q&A, here's a little bit about Rachel.

I'm a chick who writes stuff that makes you laugh. My blog has been nominated for funniest blog this year. I've been told I write in the style of that Dickens guy. Kidding.

I'm a mom, a wife, and a recovering pharmaceuticals rep. It's been a long process but I'm doing okay, thanks.

I usually write about men (The Mancode), marriage, kids, being a mom, living in the OC (ya know--being a pale redhead living in a sea of blondes) and vodka. Not necessarily in that order depending on the day.

I also write occasionally about serious stuff, like the death of someone I once loved or lost love--so don't be shocked if you come visit and don't see the funny.

Don't come here looking to find advice about how to be sweet or nice. I'm pretty much allergic to both of those words.

If you want to learn how to find humor in everyday life, well, I'm really not your girl either. Mostly I just laugh at stuff and make up words (See "Refrigeratoritis and Manesia.") Yet somehow it all seems to work.

And don't call me cute. (Hint: babies and puppies are cute. Grown women are not.)

Special note to men: I write frequently about "The Mancode" -- like how you guys do goofy stuff and we women try and often fail to understand. (Um, change the toilet paper roll much? Yea, that's what I thought.) If that offends your sensibilities, keep walking, er, typing.

Brenda & Steve: Rachel, welcome to our blog! We’re so excited you could join us for a chat. When did you first decide to submit your work to be published? Tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step.

Rachel: I first started thinking about publishing essays from my blog in 2010 and many authors I respected highly had great luck with self-publishing. I also have a good friend who, at the time was a senior editor at Simon and Schuster, and she could see the changes in publishing and strongly recommended I take a look at the benefits of self-pub.

From there I gathered my favorite essays, wrote about a third new material, hired an editor, graphic artist, and formatter, and A Walk In The Snark was a go! It became a #1 bestseller on the Kindle Motherhood list in September, 2011 as well as #1 on Parenting & Families and even Women’s Studies. It’s been amazing.

Brenda & Steve: Please tell us a little about your new release The Mancode: Exposed without giving too much of a spoiler away.

Rachel: This book carries the Mancode theme first introduced on my blog and in the first book to a whole new level – one where I deconstruct the interactions between men and women into four sections: Anatomy and Physiology, Chocolate Confessions, Coitus and Communications, and DNA and Stereotypes. There is humor. There is sex. There is chocolate.

So far, it seems to be a hit. I released the book just after Thanksgiving and it hit #1 on multiple lists (Marriage, Parenting and Families, Parenting and Relationships), outranked Go The F*ck To Sleep, and as I write this is ranked in the Kindle Top 100 Paid (#82)!

Brenda & Steve: Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write?

Rachel: I write about my husband and I, of course. But really anything – or anyone -- that happens in the course of a day is fair game. Sure, I’m writing humor but this is also nonfiction. I never know what interaction might light a fire in my head. My muse, #badredhead, has a naughty streak and loves to rile people up. *smiles* I’ve been accused of being a misandrist to never having left high school. It’s great.

Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for your books? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?

Rachel: Well, my BA is in Communications and I’m a certified Communications trainer in my previous corporate life. That said, I don’t claim to be an expert or “ologist” of any kind. I do read every book I can on men and women, particularly psych books, mostly because it fascinates me. But my essays are reality-based – everything you read really and truly happened--with perhaps a dash of hyperbole thrown in with the vodka.

Brenda & Steve: What is your writing process? Do you outline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Rachel: I’m kind of in-between. I don’t outline, but I do sort of pre-write in my head. I get an idea for an essay and toy around for a bit while I burn stuff in the kitchen. When I sit down to write it, though, I just go.

Brenda & Steve: Do you write full time? What did you do before you became a writer or still do?

Rachel: I do write full-time, though that’s somewhat of a misnomer, because I also do social media consulting (BadRedhead Media), volunteer with the Indie Book Collective, help my husband with his business, and am also a full-time mom. So I frequently must write at night when everyone else is sleeping. I miss sleep.

In addition, I do a weekly Blog Talk Radio show for the IBC (with cofounder Amber Scott), as well as two monthly social media webinars to help authors learn about social media, branding, and Twitter tips and tricks.

Before I became a writer as a living, I was a pharma rep and trainer for about fifteen years. I quit in 2004. It’s been a long recovery, but I’m doing okay.

Brenda & Steve: Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Rachel: Get coffee, kids off to school, do not look at dishes in sink screaming to be cleaned up, go straight to desk, turn on music, write.

Brenda & Steve: Describe a typical writing day for you.

Rachel: I have a goal to write two essays every day. I’m part of a critique group that meets via phone each week and if your pages aren’t in, ‘you in trouble, girl.’ We’re all published authors at this point, so there are no excuses (well, there ARE – you should hear how creative we get. I mean, we ARE writers. But still…). We’re all very busy with other tasks (jobs, family, marketing and promo) but the writing must get done. I find having this group is incredible helpful in meeting my writing goals.

I schedule in much of my social media (tweets and Facebook messages), so that frees me up to write as well. Of course I interact live frequently, but only when my writing is done. Husband interruptions taken into account, I can usually finish and edit one essay daily. It’s good to have a goal though.

Brenda & Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at your future books. What’s on the horizon?

Rachel: My next book takes a concept first introduced in A Walk In The Snark and expanded on slightly in Mancode: Exposed. Titled Chickspeak: Uncovered, my goal with this book is to help out the guys. Kind of a manual, if you will, for what “I’m fine,” truly means. I’m aiming for a Spring, 2012 release date.

In a different direction, I touch on some very serious topics in A Walk In The Snark – remember, I write nonfiction, not strictly humor. My themes are men, women, love, and loss. I’ve written a number of essays regarding abuse, suicide, and other such topics. Many people have contacted me via Twitter, Facebook, my blog and email with their own stories and it’s been unexpected, heartbreaking, yet also touching and beautiful. I plan to expand on those and put them together into a novelette.

Brenda & Steve: What is your favorite genre to read and who is your favorite author?

Rachel: I read a lot of paranormal and time-travel books, sci-fi (total geek girl), and literary fiction. I’ve read and reread The World According To Garp by John Irving multiple times. I also loved The Time-Traveler’s Wife by Audrey Niffenegger and read it yearly (the book is amazing – the movie though? #blech). As for nonfiction, huge David Sedaris fan. Love all his work.

Brenda & Steve: Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers we have not touched on?

Rachel: I co-wrote a book on self-publishing called Dollars & Sense: The Definitive Guide To Self-Publishing (with Kindle bestselling authors Carolyn McCray and Amber Scott). If anyone needs a guide to market and sell their books, I suggest checking out this book. It’s on Amazon for a buck. We also have an anthology called Our Indie Experience, which gives readers a glimpse into what fifteen to twenty writers have experienced – the good, the bad, and the searingly honest when it comes to self-pub. Rachel: I started working with my best girl, Kelly Haven, in June 2011. Before that, I wrote a lot to entertain myself, but never really did much with it.

Rachel: Scott’s stepsister Peyton has quite the reputation and over the years her transgressions have done nothing but make his life harder. Scott can’t stand her and can’t wait until they start college in a couple months. A life without Peyton would mean a fresh start, but then Scott catches a glimpse of something no stepbrother should ever see and he finds himself seeing Peyton in a whole new light.

Brenda & Steve: Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write?

Rachel: I write by the seat of my pants. Whenever I try to plan, even loosely, the story takes on a life of its own and writes itself.

Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for your books? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?

Rachel: I do a little research here and there, especially if I’m writing something historical. I was writing the bonus short for the HorrorErotik Vampire collection and even though the story was relatively short, I found myself diving into reading all about pirates. I may eventually put that information to good use. Everyone loves a sexy pirate.

Brenda & Steve: Yes, we do! Male or female; pirates are always sexy! What is your writing process? Do you outline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Rachel: I travel a lot, so I write on the go. I don’t have much time to plot and outline unless I’m working on a much, much longer work than usual.

Brenda & Steve: Do you write full time? What did you do before you became a writer or still do?

Rachel: I don’t really like to talk about my personal life, which includes what I do in my professional life. To bust out a Ghostbuster’s reference, it feels like crossing the streams and only bad things happen when those two aspects of my life cross.

Brenda & Steve: We totally appreciate an author wanting their privacy. Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Rachel: As I mentioned above, I travel a lot so I think that’s become my ritual. Being in a crowded place or on a plane sort of puts me in the frame of mind I need to be in to create a story.

Brenda & Steve: Well, we’re sure your fans are glad you find the time to write and give them the naughty books they crave for! Describe a typical writing day for you.

Rachel: They vary from one day to the next because I’m always on the road or in the air.

Brenda & Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at your future books. What’s on the horizon?

Rachel: Up until this point, all of my work has been short story and novelette length, but I am actually working on a full length novel right now called Black Widow. I have a ton of other stuff coming down the pipelines this year as well. It’s gonna be a busy, busy year.

Brenda & Steve: What is your favorite genre to read and who is your favorite author?

Rachel: I love to read urban fantasy. My favorite author is Jonathan Carroll.

We are pleased to feature Phil Stern for a one stop visit on his Virtual Book Tour. Phil is with us today to chat about his debut novel The Bull Years.

Phil's BIO:

Born in 1970 in Ossining, New York, Stern grew up with a love of all types of science fiction, including the works of Robert Heinlein, Anne McCaffrey, John Wyndham, Piers Anthony, and more.

“Speculative fiction is so different today than it was back then,” Stern says. “I wanted to write stuff a bit more recognizable to fans of my generation. Science fiction should be about ideas and alternate worlds, strong characters and good stories.

Going into talk radio after attending SUNY Albany, Stern hosted regular shows in the New York City area, Albany, Utica, NY, and Greenville, NC. He later went into the advertising and sales industries.

Stern now lives in Florida, and is working on his next novel.

Brenda & Steve: Phil, welcome to our blog! We’re so excited you could join us for a chat. When did you first decide to submit your work to be published? Tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step.

Phil: I’ve been writing for about ten years, and like many people was excited about the opportunity to publish on Kindle. Everyone knows the traditional publishing industry has been shrinking, with fewer and fewer opportunities for new authors. When I realized what Kindle and e-publishing was all about it was a no-brainer.

Brenda & Steve: Please tell us a little about your new release The Bull Years without giving too much of a spoiler away.

Phil: The Bull Years is a book about the people of today. It’s Contemporary Fiction in its most basic form, taking a hard, funny look at what life is really like in 21st century America. The sub-title is A Novel Of America’s Most Disillusioned Generation, and directly addressed the expectations we all had as kids and young adults, compared to the challenges we've faced throughout our 20's and 30's. It’s funny and poignant, and I think will resonate strongly with just about everyone.

Brenda & Steve: Do you plan all your characters out before you start a story or do they develop as you write?

Phil: A little bit of both. I did plan out the four main characters, who are also the narrators of the book, Steve Levine, Sophia Danton, Dave Miller, and Hayley Sykes. I think a good novel comes from having a firm game plan going in, but giving you enough room to be creative along the way.

Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for your books? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?

Phil: I’ve personally worked in several of the industries featured in The Bull Years, and known people who’ve worked in the others. Most of what’s there is based on personal stories and experiences.

Brenda & Steve: What is your writing process? Do you outline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?

Phil: There were seven or eight sections of the book I had firmly planned out before I began. The rest came out as I was writing.

Brenda & Steve: Do you write full time? What did you do before you became a writer or still do?

Phil: I’ve worked as a Talk Show Host and advertising. Most recently I’ve been in sales. I’d certainly love to be a full-time writing, but that’s a tough transition to make.

Brenda & Steve: Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.

Phil: I like to write in coffee shops. I can’t write at home, because there are too many distractions. So I have to get out, clear my mind, and get focused.

Brenda & Steve: That would be fun to write in a coffee shop, but I think the people watch could be distracting. Describe a typical writing day for you.

Phil: You have to write first thing. You can’t go shopping and then write, because now your mind isn't focused anymore. I have to write first thing if I’m going to get anything done that day.

Brenda & Steve: Totally agree we have to discipline ourselves, although marketing takes up a lot of an author's time. Please give us a sneak peek at your future books. What’s on the horizon?

Phil: I’m finishing up my first Young Adult Science Fiction novella now, called Escape. Then I have Reylar, another full-length novel, coming out in a few months.

We are very excited to have Ray Sostre as our first featured author for 2012. Ray is an erotic writer and founder of AfterDark Online. Besides stirring up trouble on Facebook (LOL he is an instigator!), he is an avid promoter for his fellow authors on his Blog and his web site.

Ray is just a city boy stuck out in the middle of the desert, writing and doing other things that makes him happy. He loves erotica of all types, and enjoys writing erotica for everyone's pleasure. When he's away from the computer, he's either catching up on some shows and real life, or hitting the dance clubs w/ his woman.

Brenda & Steve: Welcome to our blog Ray! Thanks for flying in from beautiful Nevada. When or at what age did you know you wanted to be a writer?

Ray: LOL, oddly I must have a memory of an elephant. It was September 1990 when I decided to be a writer. I was barely starting my freshman year in high school. For seven years I was fascinated with screenplays. I wrote my first play in 1991, which was long lost, but the story I wrote about was serving detention with a secret admirer. I never showed that work with anyone. In fact, it was lost when I moved from New Jersey to New York, nine months later. (Now to think of it, I could write that book, LOL)

But fast-forward to 1997, I stopped writing afterwards. I was going through a different time and a different phase. I didn’t get back to writing until 2010, when I was laid off from a job and my father persuaded me to get back into writing. At first, I laughed it off and didn’t think I had it in me still. I was lucky enough to write my resume, let alone I was rusted with grammar, tenses, and punctuations, but eventually it came back to me and writing has been more fun since.

Brenda & Steve: Who has inspired you the most to follow your dream of becoming published?

Ray: One is my father. Although, he has never read any of my work, he was the most supportive of me to follow my dream. And I guess beside every successful man, there’s a woman behind him. My woman of now seven years has been the most supportive. She doesn’t read any of my work, but she has helped me with some use of words and such, when a thesaurus can’t come through for me.

However, there are people in the romance group that inspired me to get published. Two of them are Dawne Prochilo and Jodi Olson, because their style I am able to identify the most. Yet, these women have more belts around their waist in getting published and I sort of feel like a tadpole here, but learning from them and reading their stories helped me become a better writer. These two inspired me the most in getting published.

Also might I add, Gina Kincade. Even though, I haven’t been published through her company, she too helped me believe in myself. I came to a critical point where I thought I wasn’t going to get there, she gets luv from me.

Brenda & Steve: Yes, the network/groups of authors we have met/joined are great in helping each other. How do you come up with your character names and titles?

Ray: Coming up with the names are not hard. I prefer to come out with names that isn’t too hip or isn’t too square. I like to come out with names that blend well together; usually I’ll still with Anglo-like names or Latin names, but they have to go well together. I prefer to come out with names that aren’t so typical either. For instance, why would someone come up with names in a romance story like John and Mary? Not that it’s a bad name, but it’s too typical. I once read an erotic romance story featuring those names.

As far as titles of the story, I mean it shouldn’t be so hard, but yes sometimes I have to change it up to make it catchy or add to it, but there is no way I would come up with a title at a length of a sentence. I never find it appealing. However, the titles that come to my head have to come from a muse.

Brenda & Steve: Tell us a little bit, without giving too many spoilers, about your latest release Their First Night Together?

Ray: Wow, when I wrote the story. I was going random at the top of my head first, but being a child from the 1990’s and from New York I wanted to write a story that reflected that era.
The story dates back in the summer of 1991, when Jared and Natalia met. The two attended the same high school together, but never spoke until she graduated. They spent the summer getting to know each other, while developing feelings like no other. But their relationship was mutually short-lived because she was moving away for college, and Jared had one more year left to finish high school.

Fast forward to the year of 1999, they meet again. And for eight years, they wondered what their first night would be like together. When they make that opportunity, that night of passion will answer itself.

Brenda & Steve: What are your favorite sex scenes . . . to write about; places or positions?

Ray: Oh, I love this place. Can I give a confession? (Oh shit) I enjoy writing sex scenes to tempt my readers into masturbation. (If I'm blessed with that talent, lol) When I write a sex scene I want to put my readers into the story, like they’re the ones having sex and I call the scene; lights, camera, and action.

On top, I like to write sex scenes that can be unusual. I hate being typical, so mundane. I like to come off with something that has never been tried before, at the same time, make it believable. Most of all, I want all my sex scenes to be explicit, strong, intense, and cinematic, meaning put my reader there.

I don’t have a preferred sex position in the story, but I don’t see anything wrong with a good wall sex scene. *evil wide grin*

Brenda & Steve: (Brenda) Remember the sex wall scene between Patrick Swayze and Kelly Lynch in Road House? I squirm everytime I watch it! Are your scenes all in your mind or are they from events you have experienced?

Ray: That is a very good question. First off, all scenes are in my mind. I treat my bedroom like Vegas, what happens there stays there. Seriously, I come up with scenes off the top of my head. I do admit I have to look at scenes and turn it around to how I would put it. Much of my muses come from an erotic photo, not porn, just erotic. Then I make my way through the story until I get to that point. I like to add the romance and comedy to the story, but minus the fluff and fillers.

Brenda & Steve: Which is your favorite time to write – during the day or night and why?

Ray: I’m a night person and I prefer to do my writing at night, especially in the wee-hours of the morning. Although, I do my writing during the day, when I first wake up and I’m out of my bed; it’s when my mind is fresh.

Brenda & Steve: Share with us some of your future WIPs (works in progress).

Ray: Well, currently I have two stories being edited as we speak. One is my very first e-novel, About The Night Ride Home, it is a story about a man name Tyler who gets involved with a woman he rode home with named Darla. This story I wrote made me fall in love with the characters and the story. I’ve had lots of fun with it. I’m shooting for 2012 for its official release. After giving out many teasers to my story, I need to get it out there for the readers.

Another one is The Girl Upstairs, also currently being edited and shooting for early 2012. The story is about a guy who moved from the big city to a small town where he gets to know his sexy upstairs neighbor. It is a hero story, because she is hiding from an abusive ex-boyfriend that just got out of prison, looking for her.

I’m also working on several more.... Service With A Smile, an erotic comedy of being a hotel desk clerk and all the fun things that go on in the hotel. This story I’m writing were based on true events when I worked as a hotel desk clerk (loved the job) and all the weird events I encounterd, along with steamy hotel sex scenes.

Love, Lust, & Electronica... Another erotic romance comedy of a neighborhood DJ trying to make it in the big city, along with his sidekick and a dancer that has crush on him.

And lastly...
Snow Day. This story is about two people that fall in love and ditch town to spend the weekend at a resort, during a blizzard, but there was one problem. The woman he’s in love with is his business partner’s sister and they decide to hide their relationship without her brother knowing.

Brenda & Steve: Your fans will be chomping at the bit for you to release all these books in 2012! Other than write, what else do you like to do in your free time – like hobbies you might have?

Ray: Well, I’m a city boy. I like the country-life, but if watching the grass grow in backyard is considered a past-time, I’d rather go to Reno or Lake Tahoe for a real past-time. Other than that, I love to go clubbing with my woman and party to the jams the DJ’s spin. I miss the city life so much. I find Salt Lake City a blessing when I’m there. It’s not like New York or San Francisco, but it’s enough to keep me sane in finding real city life; museums, exhibitions, plays, theatres, and shops for my woman.

Brenda & Steve: What avenues of the internet do you use to promote your work? Do you find social networking such as Facebook and Twitter marketing tools for book sales?

Ray: Well obviously, Facebook has been the place for me. I am the founder of a story submission website, AfterDark Online and before I joined the erotic romance groups, I was on Twitter; it helped jump-start AfterDark Online. I still use Twitter for promoting my work. And had it not been for Twitter, AfterDark Online would not have got the recognition like it did today. I wouldn’t have made many friends and followers like to today.

I have two Twitter accounts; my personal and my business. My personal account I advertise my own stories that I published in an ebook. AfterDark Online on Twitter I mention stories that were from others, along with advertisements and interviews as well.
Facebook, helped me today with erotic romance groups that I joined. So had it not been for them, I wouldn’t have met such wonderful people and perfect my writing skills. I’ll be the first to say it; I would have still struggled with my writing.

Brenda & Steve: Hollywood has contacted you to make a movie based on your book or your favorite book you have read. The kicker is they want you to play a part in the film. Which book? And which character would you play and why? (ie: would you play the star or secondary character? A strong/weak character? With or without a nude scene? Just a cameo?)

Ray: Good question! I would probably play the secondary character of the story, About The Night Ride Home, Sully, Tyler’s best friend. While I have that Newyorican Accent (New York-Puerto Rican) I can come up with a West African Accent as well. I love coming up with various accents, from British to West African, to Southern, of course Spanish, and Russian accents as well. My mother told me I should’ve been an actor, why didn’t I act sooner? *sticks out tongue and laughs*

Brenda & Steve: Is there anything else you would like to tell the readers we have not touched on?

Ray: I can be the life of the party at times and very sociable, but I’m really a loner and like that part of being a loner, because I can get work done and a piece of mind. I’m also realizing that no man’s an island, especially in the work I love to do. Brenda and Steve, it has been an AWESOME pleasure talking to you two. Thank you so much, I hope you’re New Year’s was a blast! *smiles*

Lacinda thought he was simply a driver for the cruise company so she shared some of her story. He knew about Alex dying in a car crash on the way to their wedding. She searched her memory for anything else she might have shared which could embarrass her later.

“Alas fair maiden, your chambers await your timely arrival,” he said, faking a British accent. He held his gloved hand out. Lacinda refused it.

“I’m ready for my quarters.” She needed relaxation, maybe take a nice hot scented bath and get prepared for the swing of things, anything to distract her from the past that never left her alone.

“As you wish, my lady,” he said, again with a British accent. The steward turned, led her across the deck, and down a stairway. She saw men and women following other stewards or each other. Once on board everyone began mingling, even flirting, judging by the tinkling female laughter and deep manly chuckles.

“There will be an announcement left under your door regarding tonight’s dinner seating arrangements. May you enjoy your day and make sure you take time for a relaxing massage. There’s always a masseuse available. Their extension is listed beside your phone. You’ll find your room key there as well.”

Lacinda followed him down a narrow hallway until he stopped in front of a door with an elegantly scrolled number 216.

“This is you. May I answer any questions before I go?”

Lacinda dug in her purse for a tip. Clueless on how much was appropriate and not wanting to give him anything. He got his gratuity when he copped a feel of her breasts.
