Thank you for stopping in to check
out our topic this week! Now…who’s been spanked? Did you misbehave on purpose?
*wicked laugh* That’s usually what happens so that we can get our panties
pulled down and feel that sting on our bare ass! Yes it is why!! Your fantasies
aren’t that far from what mine are, I know better! LOL
Anyway, I’m thrilled to once again be playing on the blog
with Brenda and Steve! This week we’re talking about spanking to get your
opinions and find out why readers ‘love’ to read spanking stories. I’ll try
hard to behave so Steve doesn’t bend me over his knee for a spanking!
Then again…maybe we should let Steve use the object of
choice and have everyone line up, spread your feet apart and bend over to grab
their ankles! You’d all enjoy a whack or three! I don’t doubt that…who’s up for
bending over?
Oooo…Master, please
give me another!
Now, with that out of the way…we can discuss my
newest release, Master’s Email, which will be out June 17thfor .99.
Here is the tentative cover as I’m still toying with changing it again before
the final release. This is a short story I wrote years ago and found it hiding
in my story folder. I’ve edited it and in doing so, the story got longer!
Imagine that! For those who love spanking stories, this one’s for you! It will
also appeal to the voyeur in all of us since the Master has hidden cameras in
all the rooms so he can watch his submissive as she performs for him throughout
the day. He emails her the tasks she is to do and which camera to use. Luckily,
he owns his own security business so he’s a pro at hiding surveillance cameras
and can watch his own tapes whenever he chooses to.

Brenda and Steve…as always, we had a blast! Viewers, thank
you for stopping in to read about my work and I hope you learned a bit more
about me. Steve is waiting with the paddle and flogger because on your way out,
you must bend over again, my pretties!
Ttssssss! Ouch!
Oh, by the way….Brenda and Steve are also playing at my blog
all week! Yes, Steve is a Master at being in two places at once! *wink*

Here is the awesome cover created by Tc McKinney, owner of PDMI.
Robin contacted Steve and I and asked if she could use our names in one of her stories. Well, we didn't hesitate in saying YES!
We had the pleasure of reading a little bit of the rough draft. Renee really knows how to write horror! Bren Woodard is a kick-ass chick. Her favorite weapon is a wooden stake, hence her friends call her 'Woody'. Woody loves and has to have her handmade weapons...and Steve has fallen head-over-heels in love with her. Robin was going to kill Steve but decided Woody could keep him and have her way with him. *wink*
Bren Woodard will now have her own series among the many well written books by Robin. So watch for the release date. Follow Renee on her blog and twitter for updates, and run up to Amazon and the other online book stores and buy; because Hatred With A Passion will be a must read for the summer!
Steve and I are very excited to have Debi Wilder visit with us this week. Debi is a multi-genre author writing erotic as Debi Wilder and Romance as Maxine Douglas. Debi has been writing for many years with several books under her belt, but she found her niche writing erotica and hasn't looked back.
Debi is featuring a giveaway to one lucky commenter; details below!
Although some like to think Ms. Wilder lives what she writes, it’s far from the truth. She has shelves filled with research books such as Sex Toy Tales, Lip Service, and The Academy, which she gets from her sister-in-law from time to time. Thankfully her husband doesn’t think they have to try everything at least once!
Ms. Wilder loves the freedom that writing erotica brings. There’s a no holds barred attitude that suits her when her imagination and characters take over and run wild on the pages. And like her characters, Ms. Wilder believes romance and sex go hand in hand.
Ms. Wilder currently lives a quiet life with her husband nestled deep among the pyramids of Rock Lake.
Brenda & Steve: Debi, welcome to our blog! We’re so
excited you could join us for a chat. You have hosted for us twice on Romancing
the Heart. It’s about time we feature you! When did you first decide to submit
your work to be published? Tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big
step.
Debi: Hi! I’m happy
to be here and am just as excited as the two of you. I started writing in the
1980s in general romance, but turned my attention to erotica in the 2000s. I
took creative writing classes in high school, however it wasn’t until a
friend’s sister because published that I thought “hey if she can do that so can
I!” and the rest is history.
Brenda & Steve: Please tell us a little about your new
release Blue Moon Magic without
giving too much of a spoiler away.
Debi:Blue Moon Magic
will be coming out in print for the first time since publication in 2007. It’s
four storied about three sisters, a brother they didn’t know they had, and the
effects of the coming blue moon. This series was penned by Honey Jans, Shari
Dare, Lynn Crain, and myself. The individual books are available at Loose-Id. I
believe the print book with all four stories is to be released sometime this
month.

In February Gabby’s
Second Chance came out as book 2 in the Lacey’s Lamp Series. It’s a series
of twelve short stories and let’s just say all genie’s don’t live in lamps.
Excerpt: Gabby shook off her winter coat and then sat on a stool at the bar. “I guess I could use something warm, it is damp out there tonight and with the snow…” she started, wondering why she hadn’t seen the bar on her way down to the docks. “When did you say you opened? I don’t remember seeing a sign or anything earlier tonight.”
“I’ve got exactly what you need. You don’t look like a big drinker, so how about a Peppermint Patty?” Lacey replied, setting a cup of steaming hot chocolate in front of Gabby. The sweet richness made Gabby smile while the peppermint schnapps soothed her troubled mind with memories of a happier time.
Lacey leaned over the bar, dropping a couple of mini marshmallows into the steaming cup. “I must confess, I’m not really ready to open to the public yet. You just looked so cold when I saw you standing at the docks, that when you walked by I just had to flip on the sign. Sort of like a guiding beacon in the night.”
“This is wonderful.” Gabby licked her lips, catching all the richness of chocolate that might have escaped. “Why Lacey’s Lamp? I don’t get it.”
Lacey refilled Gabby’s cup, her eyes twinkling. “Because I’m a genie and can grant you any wish you want.”

Brenda & Steve: Do you plan all your characters out
before you start a story or do they develop as you write?
Debi: Sometimes I get a feel for them in the beginning.
Their name, sex, what they want. Characters have a way of getting into my head
and telling me they have a story to be told. Now, I don’t always get to that
story right away, so I put everything down in a spreadsheet.
Brenda & Steve: How much research do you do for your
books? Have you found any cool tidbits in your research?
Debi: Well…one of my sister-in-laws always gave my husband
and I a box of books at Christmas filled with goodies and research material.
Titles like The Loving Dominant, The Ultimate Guide to Sexual Fantasy, The Mistress Manual, three of the books
from the Tales of the Marketplace series. If I need something fresh, I grab a
book and flip it open. If it looks like it might work in my story, I use it. If
not, I try a different page or book.
And to answer that question I hear out there—no, my husband
and I don’t try things I write about. While my characters may be adventurous in
that area, me not so much.
The only book I’ve done any research for is my current piece
I’m writing, Carnival: The Guardian.
It’s about poney play, and since I don’t have any experience (not sure I’m up
for that at this point in my life) I called a few people who might know who to
contact. It’s an interesting fetish and you’ve got to be a strong
person—physically, mentally, emotionally—to play at their game.
If you’re ever in Vegas, check out the Erotic Heritage
Museum. You’ll be amazed
at how far back erotica (porn) goes.
Brenda & Steve: Oh, one of our sons live in NV. We'll have to stop by there! What is your writing process? Do you
outline, write by the seat of your pants (Pantser) or a combination of both?
Debi: I use to be a Pantser, and I still am a bit. I don’t
really outline, but if I have an idea of where I want the story to go I make
one sentence notes to refer to as I’m writing. Of course, sometimes things
change because my characters have taken down a path I didn’t count on.
Brenda & Steve: Do you write full time? What did you do
before you became a writer or still do?
Debi: I retired in 2010 as a legal secretary for the WDOR,
so I write full-time. However, I’m a “muse” writer, so I can’t just make myself
sit down and write during certain hours of the day. That’s too much like work
to me; I’d much rather let my muse kick me in the butt. A little inspiration
never hurts either. *wink*
Brenda & Steve: Steve and I semi-retired so we could write full time. It's finding the time between Facebook, blogging and Twitter; we have to make ourselves just stay off them and write. Do you have a ritual when it comes to
writing? Example….get coffee, blanket, paper, pen, laptop and a comfy place.
Debi: Nope, not concrete. Sometimes it’s just a pad and
pencil in front of the TV. Other times it’s while I’m sitting in my office, in
front of the computer, doing nothing relating to writing. But if I’m really
pushing to get something done, like in Human
Touch, I might look for music relating to the topic.
Brenda & Steve: Describe a typical writing day for you.
Debi: Typical? Never!
LOL
Brenda & Steve: Please give us a sneak peek at your future
books. What’s on the horizon?
Debi:Human Touch
is an erotic scifi set in 2525 where human reproduction is controlled, sex is a
thing of the past, and droids give birth to human babies. HT has been submitted and I’m waiting to hear back from a couple of
publishers.
Carnival: The Guardian
is a fallen angel erotic with mind reading, poney play, shape-shifting. Guardian is my current WIP and it’s been
a long process, but it always is with me. It’s a bit over half done, but a long
way to go yet.
Brenda & Steve: What is your favorite genre to read and
who is your favorite author?
Debi: Romance is always first on my list, but I’ve developed
an interest for suspense/mystery. My next book will probably have a suspense
theme to it at some point. I don’t have a favorite author these days. Although
I do love the Oz series by Gregory Macquire.
Brenda & Steve: There are so many very good authors; it is hard to name a favorite. Is there anything else you would like to
tell the readers we have not touched on?
Debi: Never to give up on your dreams, always go after them.
Don’t stop reading and letting your imagination take you places. Find new
authors, try new genres…you might be surprised.
Brenda & Steve: Where can the readers learn more about
you and find your books on the web?
Brenda and Steve, thank you for allowing me to be here this
week. You’re both amazing.
Readers, I'll giveaway a choice of Book 1 of Blue Moon Magic or Gabby’s Second Chance to one lucky commenter. I’ll pick a name at random.
Brenda & Steve: Debi, thank you for visiting with us. You're pretty awesome yourself! Readers, visit Debi's blog and follow her. She also features author interviews on her Romancing the Heart blog. Sign up for her newsletter. Good luck in the drawing everyone!

Managing writing, marketing,
& blogging with a new baby in the house.
Let’s just call this sleep
deprivation 101. I’m really not the one to ask
because I have yet to figure out how to juggle working at home with a newborn.
And as I am learning, trying to do it all with a newborn is tough. It’s funny,
but I just posted a few days ago on Facebook that I haven’t written anything
substantial since my boy was born. Blogging and marketing have taken up what
little free time I have left. I just don’t have the brain power left to string
together coherent sentences. I fear my next novel might read something like
those “See Spot Run,” books. LoL. But since I was asked to write
about how I do (or don’t) make it work. Here’s a little insight into a day in
the life of a Write at Home Mom.
My day goes a little something
like this: 6:00 AM - Baby boy is up, but I’m
not ready to start the day. We attempt to nurse in bed and sleep for a little
bit longer. 7:00 AM – Alarm starts going off.
I can’t ignore the call of the morning, though I really want to! Time to get The
Girl up and ready for school, make breakfast, pack a lunch, feed The Boy
again, and attempt to get dressed somewhere in between. 9:00 AM – The Girl is off
to school, The Boy is starting to look like he might take a morning nap.
Time to get some social networking done, and maybe throw in a load of laundry. 9:30 AM – Damn that nap was
short. “C’mon baby, momma was just getting started. Oh well, let’s pull out the
toys and play.” 12:00 PM – Grab a quick bite to
eat while The Boy is sleeping next to me on his play mat. Yes, I
regularly picnic on the living room floor next to my sleeping baby. Napping in
a crib, in his own room… Nope, we’re not that cool. We sleep wherever he wants
to sleep at this point. 12:30 PM – Really, only a half
hour nap? Guess I’m not getting much done today. Oh well, more play time with
the cute little baby. Hey let’s play “help mommy fold some laundry,” and Dance
around the living room while sweeping the floor. I’m lucky if I get even the
smallest amount of cleaning done. My house is such a mess. Let’s just say, I
won’t be hosting any dinner parties anytime soon. 1:30 PM – Nap time. Quick! Grab
the computer and answer some emails before The Boy wakes up again. 2:00 PM – The Boy is up
again. I wonder if I put Baby Einstein on if I might get at least 30 more
minutes of work done? Hmmmm. Probably not, but we’ll try. 2:30 PM – I think I’m more glued
to the TV than The Boy. There is something hypnotic about those darn
movies! Let’s play it again. 3:00 PM – Where did the time go?
Let’s pack up in the stroller and walk to get The Girl from school. 9:00 PM - Dinner, dishes,
homework, bath, and bedtime are all done. Both of the munchkins are sleeping. I
really want to lay down too, but I know I should do something productive. Do I
dare attempt a shower, or jump right in and get some work and writing done? 12:00 AM – The Boy wakes
up for a midnight snack. I realize how fast time does fly, and after
writing one blog post, I don’t feel like I’ve accomplished anything. I better
get some sleep though, the night is fading away and I’ve got another full day
ahead of me. 3:00 AM – Middle of the night
baby wake up time… Mommy says “Just let me sleep 5 more minutes, baby.” 6:00 AM – The Boy is awake… Time
to start a new day… “Where’s my coffee?”
It’s so funny how quickly the day
disappears when a cute little baby occupies your day. That little smile and
those squeaky giggles are worth getting behind on your work and enduring the
sleepless nights. At some point though, work does need to get done. And I’m
sure I’ll get to it eventually… Maybe when The Boy is in college. LoL!

Katie's books on Amazon.
